Here is a real labour of love for Kings Somborne Primary School. They have always been trail blazers; In the 19th Century, King’s Somborne Primary School was probably the best known elementary School in the country and widely regarded as a model of its kind. The remarkable educational pioneer, Rev. Richard Dawes founded the school alongside his role as vicar in the village.
So when we were asked to develop a new Prospectus we knew we needed to come up with something special. Our starting point as always was to get right inside the brand, so head-teacher Julie Way explained her philosophy to us in some detail - over a nice cup of tea I might add. To summarise, whilst the school already has great procedures and a 'Good with Outstanding Features' rating from Ofsted, Julie's approach is to put the children at the heart of everything she does.
Our creative team set to work and the idea Julie selected was based on the simple concept of the children writing the prospectus. We combined this with a strapline 'Where every child makes their mark' and included a handprint from all 105 children. Julie briefed her staff and the children went to work, writing about sports, religion, numeracy, literacy and art. The results were lovely; charming words that adults just couldn't come up with. One of the parents used his skills as a professional photographer and we were away.
And we are really proud of the results. Let us know what you think?
